A Broadway dancer who has also worked with Rihanna and Beyonce is missing. Shirlene Amber Quigley, 32, was last seen on the night of October 22 at the Port Authority bus station in New York City. She was wearing a pink jacket with high heel shoes. Anybody with any information about Quigley’s whereabouts is asked to call the North Bergen police at 201-392-2100.
Here’s what you need to know:1. Her Phone & Her Car Have Been Found in New York City
A family spokesperson told Heavy.com that the NYPD located Quigley’s car outside of a Hertz car rental store at 126 West 55th Street in Manhattan. Her car was towed from that address.
According to friends of Quigley, her phone was physically found in New York City but had been pinged to Los Angeles. Those friends also said that Quigley does spend time in the Sherman Oaks area of LA. One online biography refers to Los Angeles as Quigley’s hometown. The phone is now in the possession of the NYPD. NBC New York reports that it had been found in a bridal store in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
Quigley lived alone in North Bergen, New Jersey. Her father told NBC New York that recently his daughter told a friend, “Get ready, it’s about to happen and I’m going to need you to sub for me.” The station says that Quigley’s father felt the comment was “strange.” He added that recently his daughter had behaved in a “euphoric” manner.2. At 18, Quigley Toured With Beyonce
Quigley says on her official website that she toured with Beyonce in 2003 when Quigley was 18. At the time, Beyonce had just left Destiny’s Child and was touring in support of her debut album. A separate profile reads that Quigley “danced as one of the original “uhh ohh girls” on Beyonce’s Crazy In Love music video.”
In addition to working with Beyonce, Quigley danced with Rihanna, Jamie Foxx and Missy Elliot. Her bio adds:
While on a break from touring, Shirlene created the first High Heel Dance class at world famous Millennium Dance Complex, in her hometown of Los Angeles.
She has now brought it to New york City, along with teaching at workshops around the world, such as Paris, London, Berlin, Peru, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Greece, Vancouver and more.
In addition to dancing, it’s clear from her various online profiles that religion is a huge part of her life.3. Quigley Defines Herself as a ‘Woman of God’
Quigley writes on her blog that she is a “woman of God.” Quigley adds that she hopes to use God “to inspire, motivate, and build other great leaders to step into destiny.” Meanwhile, in her Twitter bio, Quigley says, “God is my Father and I am His daughter…Dancing the Dream and I AM FREE.”
In his interview with NBC New York, Quigley’s father spoke about his daughter’s religion saying that she attended the Liberty Church in Brooklyn.
Her last Facebook update from October 14 reads, “Good morning ❤️ remember Gods got it… give it up to Him…. seasons change, leaves fall, rain comes, and winter hides the face of the sun… but the sun is always shining and God is always watching, just look to Him and reach out your hand.”
When asked in a 2015 interview about her ideal day and what she never leaves the house without, Quigley said, “I either want to spend an entire day taking classes, or the opposite: a day of watching movies in bed with my journal or being pampered, then heading to the park with a good book.” Quigley also said that she never leaves the house without, “heels, water, body spray and lip gloss.”4. Quigley Believes in Dancing in Thigh High Boots
Since returning from touring around the world, Quigley has been teaching dancing in heels at the Peridance Capezio Center and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. In December 2015 interview with Dance Teacher, it said that Quigley “recommends tight, thigh-high boots for ankle support and stability.” Though it adds despite the look, her classes are not overtly raunchy. She tells the website:
My rule in class is to treat each other with kindness, love and respect at all times. Dancing in heels is scary, but it’s such a mental thing, like, ‘You want me to do what?!’ Women can give birth, but it’s scary to dance in a high heel. I want to help my students be less scared.
A photo of Quigley leading a dance class was featured in the New York Times in September 2015.
Quigley is also an aspiring actress, her IMDb page notes several appearances in movies.
Quigley regularly updates her YouTube channel with videos of her dance classes.5. Her Friends Have Mounted a Social Media Campaign to Help Find Her
