Victoria Beckham is going downmarket.
The designer and former Spice Girl is teaming up with Target on a limited-edition spring collection of women’s and children’s clothing that tops out at $70 a pop — a far cry from the $1,200 to $4,000 duds she hawks at Neiman Marcus.
It’s also Beckham’s first foray into kid’s duds.
Target has inked more than 175 of these deals — the most infamous was the Lilly Pulitzer collection last year that sold out within hours of its launch, much to Target’s chagrin.
The Beckham line, to debut in April, is intended to last for several weeks, said a Target spokesman.
Beckham is “a coup for Target which has been struggling,” said Craig Johnson, president of Customer Growth Partners. “She’s edgier than Lilly Pulitzer and appeals to a younger customer.”
Most of the 200 items will be priced below $40 and are meant to play off of her less expensive Victoria Victoria Beckham line.
